TWO STOREY EXTENSIOn, REFURB & REAR SIDE

SLEIGHT LANE, CORFE MULLEN

CONTEXT

The existing detached modern circa 1980’s house has been added to in a disconnected way, over decades and includes an annexe on the South facing end. The client wishes to convert this end and the rest of the house to create a new open plan kitchen/dining and seating area and to harmonise the rest of the ground and first floors, which are currently not arranged for ease of access. In fact there are three different corridors and a single corridor was required to harmonise access to a better layout of the bedroom and bathroom arrangement in the loft/first floor. The ground and first floor are also currently split and not connected effectively and it is envisaged that the proposal will harmonise and make coherent the whole house. A new side extension for both loft and ground will open the kitchen on the ground and offer a new en-suite upstairs in the master bedroom. This extension is only 9m2 in area on the ground floor and is partially roofed on the first floor. Though only a small area is added, this very effectively resolves spatial and access opportunities throughout the whole house.
